Applications

Aromatherapy:

Use herbs, spices, or essential oils to create flavors and aromas for aromatherapy. Have you ever noticed that the smell of lemons makes you happy or the scent of cinnamon and cloves makes you think of the holidays? Use the VOLCANO Vaporizer to release the flavors and aromas of your favorite plants for aromatherapy. You may either use Valve Balloon capture your scent, or you may direct the scent into the ambient air.

Culinary:

Jing Tio at Le Sanctuaire in San Francisco sponsored Alex Talbot of Ideas in Food www.ideasinfood.com. Alex was demonstrating numerous exciting techniques, such as making ice cream with liquid nitrogen. Presentation during the afternoon session- flavored Vodka with cinnamon air, and it was a hit:

Francisco Migoya of The Quenelle had an interesting depiction of the machine:

“What sweet fragrance wafting through the air?”

The easiest way of doing this is using a vaporizer in an enclosed environment. So, Migoya brought out his chrome-plated Volcano Vaporizer and explained its use in ways that left no doubt about its relation to another vaporizing piece of paraphernalia found in head shops.

The chef’s intention here was to intensify the aromas of chocolate and vanilla in two enclosed desserts, and the trick certainly worked. When you opened either, your salivary glands kicked into overdrive as the sensational fragrance tantalized your nostrils.

Someone in the audience announced that vanilla is an aphrodisiac, its aroma as well as its flavor, not to mention the shape of the bean, are said to promote sexual arousal. So, using a vaporizer in the right circumstances might achieve the desired results.

Mixology:

Use the VOLCANO Vaporizer to flavor mixed drinks and beverages. By attaching a food-safe tube to the filling chamber, you can bubble and percolate the flavor and aroma into beverages. The result is instant flavor impossible to achieve with other methods.
