The VOLCANO Vaporizer was introduced to the market in 2000. Since then, tens of thousands have been sold to countless happy customers. Markus Storz began the development of vaporizers in 1996 and filed a patent for the removable Valve Balloon of the VOLCANO in January 1998, followed by the patent for the heating block as a heat exchanger for “Hot Air Extraction Inhalers” in August 2000. In the same year, the company “Vapormed Inhalatoren” was founded and the production and sale of the VOLCANO vaporizer began. Jürgen Bickel was one of the first customers.
Storz & Bickel GmbH & Co.KG was founded in December 2002. Markus Storz and Jürgen Bickel became equal partners and pressed ahead with the expansion of the company. In April 2004, new offices opened on “Rote Strasse” in Tuttlingen, Germany, and in March 2005, the subsidiary “Storz & Bickel America, Inc.” started business in Oakland, California in order to be able to offer North American customers direct sales and repair service.
The VOLCANO Vaporization System has been continuously improved and further developed. In August 2006, the EASY VALVE patent was filed and in May 2007, the EASY VALVE was produced and put on the market. The VOLCANO DIGIT had its market release in May 2007 as well.
Storz & Bickel is an innovative, growing company with 35 employees in Germany and 5 employees in California.
